MOVIE REVIEW: JANATHA GARAGE

'Janatha Garage' is one of the most anticipated project in Tollywood as it is directed by the 'Minimum Guarantee' director Koratala Siva. The movie has finally hit screens today and we bring you the first review. The plot is simple. Junior NTR (Anand) is an earth activist and he is some one who protects Mother Nature. He wants everyone to plant as much as possible to protect Mother earth. At one stage he is forced to lock horns with Mohanlal who is a mechanic and he holds a contrasting character to Junior NTR. Twist to the tale arises, when things get unfolded as who is lal and what he actually was earlier. Anand who is socially responsible tackles all the mess and walks out for 'A happily ever after' climax. ‘Manam ee bhoomi meeda tenants maatrame. Tarvatha taralaki tirigi iccheyali ‘ timely dialogue by NTR, sums up the theme of the movie.

Star Performance

We have an array of actors and it is Mohanlal who scores attention midst everyone else. No wonder why he is called as a versatile actor. Saikumar, Devayani, Unni Mukundan, Rahman, Sithara, Brahamaji, Suresh are part of supporting cast. But more than that, each character actually has a role. They don't just come in, say a few inconsequential things, then vanish. That is where Koratala siva proves his mark. Similarly the lead actor Junior NTR. We have already spoken enough about him. He has taken a mass avatar and he fits the bill perfectly. His dance movements in 'Pakka Local' and 'Apple Beauty' song are a treat to watch. He also scores in Action sequences. His body language is effing perfect and he will fly new heights after this movie. Even though there are two female leads, none of them stay in our hearts. Samantha might get a place as she has shown some glamour. Nothing more to brag about. Kajal who appears just for one song has stole our hearts. She is definitely the new generation item bomb. Her glamour and tarak's energetic dance steps is a pure feast for our eyes !

Techinical Team

Mythri Movie makers have pulled out all the marketing stops for this movie and it is good to report that the results are also worth the glamour. Cinematography by Tirru deserves special mention and he is sure to stay in Tollywood for a while. The visuals and angles are quite creative. He has captured the exotic locales of Kerala in 'Rock on Bro' song. The lightings are also natural and he never made anything superficial. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao's editing work is also flawless. However it could have been better by chopping few unwanted comedy scenes and songs in second half. The frames per scene was shown brilliantly and that races the tempo of the movie. Cuts are linear and perfect. Koratala Siva has done a splending work with script and he has proved it again that content with masala is always a winner. Not to forget the Art director, AS Prakash has done an incredible job by erecting some lavish sets. Kajal's 'Pakka local' song was so spicy due to his innovative set designs at Saradhi Studios. Devi Sri Prasad's music is just giving goosebumps to us each time. He gets better each time around.
