Maya Ali is being paired Akshay Kumar in the Hindi remake of 'Kaththi', tentatively titled as 'Ikka'. She is a big name in Pakistan Film Industry and got the perfect launch pad she deserved.
Jagan Shakti, a protege of AR Murugadoss, directs the movie. Akshay and Murugadoss share a great professional relationship. They teamed up for 'Thuppakki' Hindi remake 'Holiday' and now gets associated for one more project.
'Kaththi' is based on farmers issues. The film is about the sacrifice made by few farmers to enlighten the people about their plight and how one man led the battle fighting all the odds.
